Sheet-metal rolling and bending

A few tips for mechanical design โš™๏ธ

What's on the table this time?

ย

This is a part of a sheet-metal rolling and bending line I once designed.ย

This specific part performs a single stamping operation,

but that's not the main focus here.

What did I highlight for you?

๐ŸŸข Green - Reinforce the structure as much as possible! Even if your analysis shows a safety factor of 5, why not add a maximum-size reinforcement rib?

๐Ÿ”ต Blue - Connection plates, or as I call it, "Auxillary setup" โ€“ trust me, no matter how many optional clamping points you add, you'll end up using all of them.

๐ŸŸก Yellow - Floor anchoring with leveling mechanisms โ€“ this is especially important when aligning different modules along the production line, just like in this case.
